You may want to consider an 'anti-bias' approach to curriculum, rather than the more traditional 'multi-cultural' approach, which tends to be rather "touristy" in nature (and simply reinforces our isolationist tendencies).

    trend 1 response
We agree with the priority of reflection and how important this will be for students. Teach them to slow down and absorb information and reflect on it. As educators we need to compete with the vast amount of information available and the speed with which it can be accessed. We need to refocus our instruction to how to analyze and interpret information. We need to change our questions to include more higher level interpretation: synthesize, anlysis, and application because information is so readily available. Due to the quick turn around time and the accessibility of information we need to deal with students need for immediate gratification. Patience is a virtue!
What are the future life long skills we need to focus on teaching?

    Comments from trend 7
We agree that before we can expect to see the Vision of the Graduate realized, we need to look at how we as adults can change the way we currently instruct students by looking at a more transdisciplinary approach to teaching, helping to ensure greater engagement by focusing on problem solving and experiential learning.
